Support to women and children fleeing from Eastern Ukraine

This initiative was supported by The New Democracy Fund through the Rapid Response Fund.

About the initiative

In the context of the war in Ukraine, this initiative aims to help women and children fleeing, providing them with food, social- and psychological assistance, and art therapy. The partners will work to document stories of internally displaced persons and provide possibilities for self-employment for women staying in shelters, which will enable them to be self-reliant. Sewing machines will be purchased for sewing bags, underwear, and other items as needed, as well as machines that dry fruit and vegetables to be used in different ways.

About the organisations

KVINFO is Denmark’s knowledge center for gender and equality. KVINFO works at the crossroads between knowledge, politics, and practice. As a knowledge center for gender and equality, they create overview, research, and knowledge on the field and bring this knowledge into play broadly to decision-makers, media, companies, organizations and the public in Denmark and internationally.

Women’s Perspectives was established in 1998 in Ukraine. Their mission is to uphold women’s rights and support equal rights and possibilities in all areas of life. They aim at implementing gender policy in Ukraine, combating violence against women and domestic violence, increasing the competitiveness of women in the labour market, and promoting women’s participation in decision-making processes in Ukraine.
