This initiative was supported by The New Democracy Fund through the New Cooperation Fund.

About the project

This project aims at improving working conditions for agricultural- and municipal workers in Ukraine. The project intends to support the organization of the two sectors and provide knowledge on their rights, equality, and democracy. Through the project, a professional network is established focusing on organization, mobilization, citizenship, and democratic engagement.

  • The Green Group (Outdoor professions-private sector) Skilled and unskilled workers within the outdoor professions, dairy workers, agricultural workers, animal keepers their assistants etc.
  • The Public Sector Group: Semi-skilled workers, gardeners, assistant gravediggers, cleaners and service personnel, workers from the caring professions incl. hospital workers, laundry workers, etc.
  • The private Sector Service Group, Hotel and Restaurant Workers: Cleaning assistants and service assistants , kitchen staff, reception workers/waitresses, hotel and restaurant assistants etc.

3F Odense GOPS is offering membership of a dynamic trade union, in which attention is centered on the members and are striving to provide the best possible service.

Partners

This project involved two Ukrainian trade unions as project partners: In the agricultural sector: Union of Agricultural Workers, and in the municipal sector: Union for Public Service Workers. The two trade unions have identified the same underlying challenge with regard to their declining memberships. Both have insufficient capacity to train elected representatives at the workplaces in order to inform the workers and trainees about their rights and how to unionise.
