Save Ukrainian local media

About the initiative

This initiative aims to support local Ukrainian media, especially in war zones or on temporarily occupied territories, to counteract the informational siege and propaganda in Ukrainian cities. The initiative supports eleven local editorial offices in Ukraine and enables them to continue their work.

About the organisation

NGO ABO Local Media Development works towards relaunching the local media market through the creation and development of independent local online media and projects, systematic development of its infrastructure, improving the professional level of local journalists and their skills. NGO ABO Local Media Development Agency works towards increasing the level of media literacy, civic engagement, and awareness of community residents and involving them in the development of their cities and towns.

Partner organisation

International Media Support is part of the consortium behind The New Democracy Fund. International Media Support is the largest development organisation in the Nordic Region. They work in more than 30 countries across four continents promoting press freedom, good journalism and safety for journalists.
